Morrison County Arrest Warrants

Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen reports that arrest warrants were issued for the following people. The warrants were issued Feb. 24 – March 10.

Mock charged with third- and fifth-degree possession

Christopher Micheal Mock, 32, Little Falls, was charged March 16 with one felony count of third-degree possession of methamphetamine and one felony count of fifth-degree possession of hydrocodone.

According to the criminal complaint, on March 13, 2015, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant for the Mock’s residence and allegedly located a large amount of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

A baggie was allegedly found in Mock’s bedroom containing 10 pills of hydrocodone, a Schedule II controlled substance which cannot be possessed without a prescription.

A number of baggies containing what appeared to be methamphetamine were also allegedly found, along with a set of digital scales, other pills, and a leafy substance believed to be marijuana. The total weight of the suspected methamphetamine was five grams.

Mock allegedly admitted in a statement that the methamphetamine belonged to him and that he had been purchasing meth in St. Cloud to sell in Little Falls for several months.

If convicted, Mock faces up to 20 years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine for the third-degree charge and five years imprisonment and/or a $10,000 fine for the fifth-degree charge.

March 12 — A resident on 150th Avenue, Little Falls, reported fraudulent charges to their credit card for more than $1,000.

March 12 — A resident on Great River Road, Little Falls, reported someone had taken their vehicle without permission.

March 13 — A resident who owns an abandoned home on Azure Road in Motley reported a break-in at the home.

March 13 — Someone pumped $40.02 worth of gasoline and left without paying at a business on Grouse Road, Little Falls.

March 13 — A resident on Sage Road in Hillman reported someone had placed a piece of concrete in their field, which caused damage to the auger and a chain tightener on the resident’s combine.

March 15 — Someone pumped $34.10 worth of gasoline and left without paying for it at a business on Highway 10 South, Motley.

March 15 — Someone pumped $20.52 worth of gasoline and left without paying for it at a business on Grouse Road, Little Falls.

March 16 — A business on DeGraff Avenue, Swanville, reported it had received six bad checks, amount to $800, from the same person.

March 17 — Someone pumped $65 worth of gasoline and left without paying for it at a business on DeGraff Avenue, Swanville.

March 18 — A resident on Darling Road in Little Falls reported a theft.

March 18 — A resident on 275th Avenue in Pierz reported a scam in which the resident received a check in the mail for an item they posted for sale on Craigslist. The check was for several thousand dollars more than what the resident asked for the item, then the person who sent the check demanded the resident wire the excess money back to them.

March 11 — A resident on Second Street Southeast reported their backpack and its contents had been stolen while they were at another residence.

March 11 — A resident on Buck Lane in Little Falls reported suspicions that gas was being stolen from their vehicle.

March 11 — A resident on Seventh Street Northeast reported a scam.

March 11 — Someone pumped $16.80 worth of gasoline and left without paying for it at a business on First Avenue Northeast.

March 12 — A resident on First Street Southeast reported someone had damaged their property.

March 14 — A resident on Third Avenue Northeast reported a possible scam involving a phone solicitor.

March 15 — A resident on 10th Street Southwest reported someone had stolen the license plate from their vehicle.

March 17 — A resident on Oak Street reported a scam when they received a call from Publishers Clearinghouse saying they had won millions of dollars, but that had to provide personal information and send $150 to collect the money.

March 17 — A resident on Fourth Street Southeast reported three subjects wearing items over their faces walked in and demanded drugs and money. An investigation is under way.

March 18 — A business on Broadway East reported a theft.

Meyer convicted of two felony counts of check forgery

James Earl Meyer, 51, Pierz, was convicted Monday, in Morrison County District Court of two felony counts of check forgery.

According to the criminal complaint, on Sept. 26, 2014, a police officer from St. Joseph contacted the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office to report that a number of checks had been stolen from a business in St. Joseph, and the suspect was believed to be Meyer.

An officer went to a business where Meyer had attempted to cash one of the stolen checks. The business owner stated that Meyer had attempted to purchase a vehicle with a check for the partial amount of the vehicle, but was unable to be approved for credit for the remaining cost. The business owner accepted the check with the understanding that Meyer would return to complete the purchase, but he never did so.

On Sept. 30, 2014, the Stearns County Sheriff’s office received a report that someone had broken into a home and had stolen personal and business checks. Stearns County officers arrested Meyer, who was found to be in possession of the stolen checks.

A Morrison County officer later found that one of the checks had been written out for $200 and cashed at a nearby bar using a forged signature. A surveillance camera showed Meyer going into the bar and cashing the fraudulent check.

Meyer was fined $335 for the first felony, including $200 in restitution, and $135 for the second felony.

Meyer was sentenced to 21 months in prison for each felony, to be served concurrently.

Blanco convicted of felony second-degree assault

Erik Adrian Blanco, 32, Little Falls, was convicted Wednesday in Morrison County District Court of one felony count of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.

According to the criminal complaint, on Feb. 3, 2014, law enforcement received a report of a burglary in progress. The victim stated that she and her significant other, identified as Blanco, were separated and he had moved out of the house. Blanco had called the victim and stated he was coming to the residence to get some of his items, although the victim told him she did not want him at the house and would call the police if he came anyway.

Blanco was at the scene and was confrontational with officers, using profanity in speaking to both the victim and an officer.

The officer told Blanco to leave and he did so. However, 10 minutes later a report was made of an assault with a knife at the same residence. The officer arrived at the scene and observed Blanco on the property and handcuffed him despite Blanco’s efforts to resist. A large kitchen knife was found a few feet away from Blanco.

The victim said Blanco had returned to the residence and approached the victim in a threatening manner. Another person in the residence struck Blanco in the face, at which point he grabbed a kitchen knife and swung it at the person who struck him.

Blanco’s criminal record shows one previous conviction for terroristic threats from 2011 in Morrison County.

Blanco was sentenced to 33 months in prison, stayed for seven years, 180 days in jail with credit for 12 days already served, seven years probation and a $135 fine.

Blanco had the following charges dismissed as part of a plea bargain: one gross misdemeanor count of domestic assault, one misdemeanor count of theft and one misdemeanor count of driving after revocation.

Nikunen charged with fifth-degree possession of marijuana

Willie Richard Olson Nikunen, 20, Thief River Falls, was charged March 23 with one felony count of fifth-degree possession of marijuana.

According to the criminal complaint, on March 21, a Morrison County law enforcement officer on routine patrol observed a vehicle with dark window tint on Highway 10. The officer stopped the suspect vehicle and identified the driver as Nikunen. While measuring the window tint, the officer allegedly detected a very strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Nikunen allegedly admitted there was “a little” marijuana in the vehicle. A subsequent search allegedly found a large bag of marijuana inside the glove box.

The officer also allegedly found individually wrapped bags of marijuana, a pill bottle containing marijuana, a marijuana grinder and two smoking pipes.

The total amount of marijuana in the vehicle was later found to weigh 132 ounces.

Nikunen allegedly admitted that the marijuana was his, and that he had purchased it for $800.

If convicted, Nikunen faces up to five years imprisonment and/or $10,000 in fines.

Brittany Spence charged with possession of meth, giving a false name

Brittany Lee Spence, 23, Harris, was charged March 23 with one felony count of fifth-degree possession of methamphetamine and one gross misdemeanor count of giving a peace officer a false name.

According to the criminal complaint, on March 21, Little Falls police officers responded to a report of suspicious activity at a local business. The complainant alleged that a person had been walking into and out of the building multiple times over the course of an hour.

An officer on the scene observed a suspect, who stated she was waiting for a ride home. The suspect allegedly gave the name of another person, and allegedly gave two dates of birth which were found to not be on file. A third date of birth did belong to a real person; however, further conversation identified the suspect as Spence, who allegedly stated she did not want to give her real name because of an active arrest warrant.

Spence was arrested for giving a false name, as well as for the active warrant. A search of her purse allegedly found a ziploc baggie containing a white powdery substance which field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

If convicted, Spence faces up to five years imprisonment and/or a $10,000 fine for the felony and up to one year in jail and/or a $3,000 fine for the gross misdemeanor.

Jerad Whitford charged with second-degree sale of heroin in a school zone

Jerad Michael Whitford, 21, Little Falls, was charged  March 19 with one felony count of second-degree sale of heroin in a school zone.

According to the criminal complaint, on Nov. 18, 2014, a confidential informant contacted Morrison County law enforcement alleging that he/she could purchase heroin from Whitford. An investigator provided the informant with buy money and observed as a transaction allegedly took place.

The informant drove to and parked in front of Whitford’s residence, which is located within one block of an elementary school.

Whitford was allegedly observed walking out of the residence into the informant’s car. He then left the informant’s car and went back to the house.

The informant then met with an investigator and turned over a piece of paper containing heroin. The informant gave a statement that he/she drove to Whitford’s house, met with him, and purchased a quantity of heroin using the money provided by the investigator.

If convicted, Whitford faces up to 25 years imprisonment and/or a $500,000 fine.

Mary Brichacek charged with fifth-degree possession of meth

Mary Elizabeth Brichacek, 29, Motley, was charged March 18 with one felony count of fifth-degree possession of methamphetamine.

According to the criminal complaint, on March 16, Little Falls police officers investigating a report of a  bad check went to a local hotel in search of a suspect.

Brichacek allegedly answered the door of the room where the suspect was thought to be located, and allegedly seemed nervous while speaking to police.

Police later located the initial suspect, but returned to question Brichacek about the use of drugs in the hotel room. Brichacek allegedly stated she had not used drugs in the room and no drugs were present, but there could be paraphernalia. Brichacek allegedly consented to a search of the room by police, and officers allegedly located a glass pipe which later field tested positive for methamphetamine. A small piece of plastic was also found, containing .3 grams of a crystal substance that also tested positive for methamphetamine.

Brichacek allegedly admitted the pipe belonged to her and that she had put methamphetamine inside it. She allegedly denied that the methamphetamine was hers.

The other suspect allegedly stated that the pipe was Brichacek’s, and the methamphetamine belonged to him.

If convicted, Brichacek faces up to five years imprisonment and/or a $10,000 fine.

Moline convicted of third-degree criminal sex conduct with a minor

Seth Michael Moline, 20, Little Falls, was convicted March 20 in Morrison County District Court of one felony count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor under 16 years old.

According to the criminal complaint, on Aug. 9, 2013, Little Falls Police received a report of a sexual offense against a 14-year-old. The victim stated that she had engaged in sexual conduct with Moline on four occasions during July of 2013. She stated that she had met Moline at a local carnival, and the two had talked. She said they later had sex.

Moline admitted that he had met the victim at the carnival. Moline later admitted that he did have sex with the victim, and knew what they were doing was wrong.

Moline was sentenced to 30 days in jail, 15 years probation and $2,027 in fines, $1,892 of which was restitution. He is also required to register as a predatory offender.

March 19 — A resident on 60th Avenue in Cushing reported someone had attempted to gain entry into an outbuilding on property the resident owns.

March 21 — A resident on 78th Street in Hillman reported a burglary.

March 21 — A resident on 170th Avenue in Royalton reported the theft of about 600 gallons of diesel fuel from their outdoor diesel tank.

March 22 — A resident on 253rd Street in Little Falls lodged a property damage complaint.

March 22 — Someone threw a landscape block through the glass door at a lake property on Cottonwood Road in Cushing. Officers also noticed boat houses on Cottonwood Road that had either had the door pushed in or the windows broken out of the doors.

March 23 — Someone took the tire and rim off of a vehicle sitting the yard of a residence on Harness Road in Little Falls.

March 24 — Someone broke the windows out of a vehicle when it was left on Balcony Road in Swanville because of a flat tire. In addition, a car radio valued at $30 and a Roden’s ignition interlock device valued at $1,800 were stolen.

March 24 — Someone stole about a half cord of wood from a residence on Island View Court in Cushing.

March 25 — Someone drove into a yard on Evergreen Lane in Pierz and ran over blue reflective markers.

March 25 — A resident on Grouse Road in Little Falls reported someone had used their Social Security Number to file taxes fraudulently. The resident learned of it when they tried to file their own tax return.

Dubbin charged with felony theft

Pennie Kay Dubbin, 52, Long Prairie, was charged March 24 with one felony count of theft of property valued at more than $1,000.

According to the criminal complaint, on March 22, a local business made a shoplifting complaint to Little Falls police officers. An officer met with a loss-prevention employee at the business, who alleged that Dubbin was observed removing a price tag from a computer and replacing it with a price tag from a printer. Dubbin also allegedly concealed multiple items in bags that she brought with her into the store. The employee stated that Dubbin went through the checkout and did not pay for the concealed items, nor did she pay the actual price for the computer.

The total value of the items was $1,213.01.

Dubbin was stopped as she was leaving the store, and allegedly acknowledged to law enforcement that the account by the employee was true.

If convicted, Dubbin faces up to five years imprisonment and/or $10,000 in fines.

Monette charged with possession of heroin, marijuana

Adam Joseph Monette, 20, Little Falls, was charged  March 23 with one felony count of fifth-degree possession of heroin and one felony count of fifth-degree possession of marijuana.

According to the criminal complaint, on March 20,   a local business reported a duffle bag, allegedly belonging to Monette,  that smelled strongly of marijuana.

An officer at the scene observed Monette open the duffle bag and look inside, and allegedly saw in plain view what appeared to be a plastic bag filled with marijuana buds. Monette allegedly admitted that he had an ounce of marijuana in the bag, along with a digital scale and several ziploc bags.

Monette was arrested for possession of marijuana. A search incident to arrest allegedly found a small folded piece of tinfoil in Monette’s pocket, which contained a powder that field-tested position for heroin. Monette allegedly admitted the substance was heroin.

If convicted, Monette faces up to five years imprisonment and/or $10,000 in fines for each charge.

Gross misdemeanor charges filed

Morrison County Attorney Brian Middendorf and his staff have filed gross misdemeanor complaints against the following people:

•Sakhone (NMN) Intharaphet,  50, Little Falls — In connection with a March 11 incident, Intharaphet has been charged with one count of fourth degree assault – peace officer – physically assaults and one count of obstructing legal process with force.

•Christopher Lee Karna, 29, Ham Lake — In connection with a March 13 incident, Karna has been charged with two counts of third degree DWI.

•Margaret Elizabeth Raybern, 26, Motley — In connection with a March 7 incident, Raybern has been charged with one count of obstructing legal process with force and one count of disorderly conduct – offensive/abusive/noisy/obscene.

If found guilty, those charged face a maximum penalty of one year in jail and/or a $3,000 fine.

The court will set their appearance dates.

Schroller convicted of illegally possessing a firearm

Jess Joseph Schroller, 41, Little Falls, was convicted March 25 in Morrison County District Court of one felony count of possessing an assault weapon after conviction for a violent crime.

According to the criminal complaint, on March 14, 2014, Morrison County law enforcement received a report from a concerned citizen that Schroller, a convicted felon, had been in possession of a firearm.

The complainant stated that Schroller had been living at their residence and went hunting, during which time he was in possession of a firearm. Schroller also had a gun in his possession at the residence.

Members of the hunting party confirmed that Schroller was in possession of a firearm during deer hunting season in November 2013.

Schroller was convicted of burglary and aggravated robbery in Texas in 1993 and as a result is not permitted to possess a firearm.

Schroller was sentenced to 60 months in prison, stayed for 15 years, 150 days in jail with credit for one day already served, $135 in fines and 15 years probation.

Hermsen charged with fifth-degree possession

Brice Bernard Hermsen, 34, Randall, was charged March 12 with one felony count of fifth-degree possession of marijuana.

According to the criminal complaint, on March 10 the Morrison County SWAT team executed a search warrant at Hermsen’s residence and allegedly found two rooms in which marijuana was being grown. Twenty-one mature marijuana plants and 25 smaller marijuana plants were located in one room, and 15 mature marijuana plants were located in the other room.

Also allegedly found in both rooms were lights, power supplies and electric timers used to grow the plants.

The total weight of marijuana found throughout the home exceeded 42.5 grams.

Officers also allegedly found ten firearms in the home, along with other paraphernalia related to the use of marijuana.

If convicted, Hermsen faces up to five years imprisonment and/or a $10,000 fine.
